About the tradition of the ancient Rome

The Judith Tower contains a rare, late-Romanesque argillite relief, which depicts the transfer of royal authority by the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick Barbarossa to Vladislav, the second king of Bohemia. The precise workmanship of the relief is obviously inspired by ancient art. The relief is therefore the first evidence of the relationship between Czech art and the traditions of the ancient world.
